Address Allocation

CENIC provides IPv6 connectivity on its CalREN-HPR network. Requests for IPv6 address space and connectivity should be directed to noc@cenic.org. CENIC allocates /48 netblocks to IPv6 sites.

For IPv4 address space, please familiarize yourself with our IPv4 Allocation Policy prior to making your request and email cenic.org with the following information. A CENIC NOC representative will contact you within 24 hours of your request.

Your existing network

  • List your current Internet Service Provider(s).
  • List the current IP blocks you have already been assigned from all providers.
  • Existing Network Topology: Explain how the address space is currently being utilized, using the preferred format.
  • Explain how the current and requested address space combined will be utilized, both initially (within a month after receiving the additional space) and after one year, using the preferred format.
  • Provide additional information for CENIC to consider for this network request. This could include any explanations if unable to satisfy CENIC policy. If you are planning to migrate away from and return old IP address space, please provide information here regarding plans for that migration.
